Saunas / BUYING GUIDE

Before you buy a sauna: measure more than the footprint

A practical checklist for access, power, placement and the final installed price.

Start with the route into your home

Measure every doorway, side gate, stair and corner between the delivery point and the proposed location. Ask the supplier for the packaged dimensions and the largest assembled component. A sauna that fits the room can still fail to fit through the door.

Ask for a written installation scope

Ask whether the quoted price includes freight, unloading, moving the unit into position, assembly, electrical work, commissioning and packaging removal. Get a separate price for any excluded item. Found—Space publishes a delivery and installation page; other suppliers have different inclusions.

Confirm the exact model requirements

Have the supplier provide the installation manual before paying a deposit. Check required clearances, ventilation, floor requirements and the power connection. Ask a licensed electrician to assess the proposed circuit. A product described as plug-in still needs a suitable location and supply.

Separate indoor and outdoor models

Do not assume a timber cabin is suitable for exposed weather. Ask the supplier to confirm the permitted exposure and ongoing care for that exact model in writing. For a rental or strata property, obtain the relevant permissions before committing.

Keep one comparable quote sheet

Record the equipment price, delivery, assembly, site preparation, electrical work and annual care. Compare the complete scope between suppliers. Our cost planner lets you test your own figures. Use the quote comparison to record what each supplier includes.
