Request the actual documents
Ask each supplier for the current manual for the exact tub, chiller and control system being quoted. Note the document version and date. A general FAQ is a useful starting point, but it should not replace the instructions that come with the equipment.
Use a simple comparison sheet
Create columns for daily checks, routine cleaning, consumable replacement, water management, servicing and extended periods away. Write down what each supplier requires, which products are approved and whether any specialist service is needed. Leave unclear instructions as an open question.
Resolve contradictions
If a manual, website and salesperson give different answers, ask the supplier to confirm which instruction applies to your model. Do not choose the cheapest or easiest version yourself. Keep the written clarification with your purchase records.
Price the routine
Turn the confirmed schedule into an annual consumables budget. Ask about local availability, delivery charges and whether the supplier expects replacement parts to remain available. Record the time commitment separately: a lower cash cost does not always mean a lower-effort setup.
Decide whether it suits your household
Consider holidays, irregular use and who will handle the upkeep. An automated temperature controller does not automatically maintain the entire system. Our maintenance-budget guide provides a worksheet approach; it does not prescribe chemical treatment or override the manufacturer’s instructions.
